Lumive Guardian G12 Camera: Look First, Then Decide Who Comes In

A door lock usually answers one question — may this person come in? The Guardian G12 Camera lets you settle an earlier one: who is this? A camera module sits above the keypad, and the doorbell function turns a caller into a request rather than a knock, so an unfamiliar face is something you look at instead of something you guess about. You look, then you decide, and the door stays shut while you do it.

The Doorbell Function: A Caller Asks, You Answer

When a caller presses the doorbell, the request lands on your phone. Open the Lumive app, look at who is standing there, and allow or refuse — from the next room or from outside the house. Nobody waits on the step while you ring around asking who it might be, and nobody ends up holding a code they were never meant to have.
  • Deliveries and tradespeople. Check that the person at the door matches the job before anything is opened.
  • Relatives who turned up without a code. Let them in yourself, instead of handing out a passcode you would want to retire afterwards.
  • Callers you were not expecting. Look, refuse, and leave the door exactly as it was.
Wi-Fi is what carries that request. The lock joins your home network and reaches you through the Lumive app — the same place you hand out a one-visit code or a short-stay electronic key, read back who opened the door and when, and get told the battery is running down while there is still time to act.

Five Credentials, One Door

  • App and camera. See the caller, then release the lock yourself — the pairing only this G12 offers.
  • Fingerprint. The 3D sensor reads a finger in around half a second and rejects prosthetic copies.
  • Passcode. An illuminated touch keypad, for household members who should not have to open an app to get in.
  • M1 RFID card. One tap on the reader: useful with shopping in both arms, or for a household member who would rather not register a fingerprint.
  • Mechanical key. Included, and beholden to nothing electrical.
The lock registers as many as 200 fingerprints, alongside 100+ passcodes and 100+ cards, each kind with an allowance of its own rather than competing for one shared total — room for a large household and for the people who pass through it. Auto-lock takes care of the rest: the door re-secures itself once a set period has passed.

Weather, and the Fit to a Saudi Door

The lock carries an IP55 rating for dust and water, and its operating range runs from 60°C down to -25°C. A July afternoon and a dusty one are both inside that envelope. KSA version, Mortise 4585.

It Talks, in Arabic

Spoken guidance comes in Arabic and in English, with six further languages available. The lock says out loud what it has just done, during an unlock or while a setting is being changed. In a household where not everyone reads the same script off a keypad, that turns the lock from one person's device into everybody's.

Battery Warning, and a Way In Regardless

The Lumive app sends a low-battery notification in good time, which makes changing the battery something you schedule. Leave it too long and temporary power over the lock's USB Type-C port, drawn from a power bank or another suitable source, is enough to let you in and put a fresh battery in place.

Handing and Installation

The lock is reversible, so handing is a screwdriver job rather than a separate order code, and you do not have to specify a side when you buy. The supplied guide is written for fitting it yourself; a technician is worth calling if the door itself needs modifying, or if you would simply rather not. All of it runs through the Lumive app — download it from the App Store or on Google Play.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do the camera and doorbell on the Guardian G12 Camera work?

A camera module sits above the keypad. When a visitor presses the doorbell, the request reaches your phone through the Lumive app over Wi-Fi, and you look at who is there and choose to allow or refuse without opening the door.

What is the difference between the G12 Camera and the G12 WiFi?

The G12 Camera adds a camera module above the keypad and a doorbell function; the G12 WiFi has neither. Both run over Wi-Fi with the Lumive app and share the same body. The G12 TTLock BLE connects over Bluetooth instead.

Will the Guardian G12 Camera fit my door?

The G12 Camera is the KSA version in the Mortise 4585 size and reverses with a screwdriver, so it suits left- and right-hung doors. Check that your existing lock body is 4585, and send Lumive your door's thickness and photos on WhatsApp if you are unsure.

What if the G12 Camera battery runs low?

The Lumive app sends a low-battery notification in good time, so changing the battery becomes something you schedule. If it runs out, a power bank on the USB Type-C port gives enough temporary power to open the door and fit a fresh battery.

How many fingerprints can the G12 Camera store?

The G12 Camera registers up to 200 fingerprints, plus 100 or more passcodes and 100 or more cards, each with its own allowance. Auto-lock re-secures the door after a set period. Other ways in are the Lumive app, an M1 RFID card and the mechanical key.

Can I install the G12 Camera myself, and what does installation cost?

Yes, the supplied guide is written for fitting it yourself, and a technician is worth calling if the door needs modifying. Lumive installation costs SAR 120 per lock when you buy from Lumive, and includes app setup and a full test before the technician leaves.

What door thickness does the Guardian G12 Camera fit?

The Guardian G12 Camera fits doors from 35 to 55 mm thick and uses the Mortise 4585 lock-body size. Measure your door and lock body before ordering, and send Lumive the measurements and photos on WhatsApp if you are unsure.

What warranty does the Guardian G12 Camera have?

The Guardian G12 Camera is covered by Lumive's warranty for 2 years from the date of purchase, against defects in materials and workmanship. Repair, exchange or, in some cases, a refund is available, and normal battery wear and misuse are not covered.
